Thursday Club

  The Thursday Club is a group of Black Rose Oldies (average age over 70) who meet up on a Thursday at Bernies Cafe in Ingleton at 10am and go for a short walk in the Yorkshire Dales. We also take video footage so that armchair Oldies can enjoy our days out and stay in touch. We are not experts at anything, rather the wise old men of the hills, having fun.

Hi Ged,

  Went to investigate that hole the Oldies found 17-03-2011. Only day I could squeeze it in and probably the most miserable day in the Dales for some time, I think it was worse than Thursday..     On the way I walked straight to a great big hole that I didn’t know existed, it had two digs, amazing what you can find in the gloom!      Then by some miracle found Keld Nook Pot, which in turn led me to Toadint Hole  see two photos, before and after shots..    Drops about two metres, very narrow at top, opens out further down but that is full of soil / mud that slopes down – rocks thrown that way roll down for a good few metres.. Hard to say if it’ll go anywhere, would need some rock removing near entrance to facilitate access for spoil removal, so a longer term dig.       And I’ve just got an email from Alex, he was up in the Dales yesterday poking at the sink near Sell Gill, I’ll forward photos soon, unless Alex does  Regards,   Dunc       ...  Black Rose Caving Club
